Never Underestimate the Joy of Yoga

Welcome to School House Yoga Studio

In May 2016, the doors to School House Yoga Studio were opened in the former St. Mary’s Elementary School, which was built in 1866. Years after the closing of the school, the Benedictine Sisters of Erie renovated and made improvements to the building and in 2014 renamed it The Studio at St. Mary’s: Space to Create. They welcomed artists and innovative businesses to help revitalize and positively impact center-city Erie.

To be able to create a yoga studio in this peaceful, tranquil space was a dream come true. Since the beginning, the support and encouragement that we received from people cannot be understated. The many instructors and students who have been involved by teaching and attending classes and workshops have created a close-knit yoga community. There is power in this connection. We can harness this power with loving intention to influence positive changes in the bigger community, even outside the studio.

The true meaning of yoga is the union of the body, mind and spirit. We all strive for a healthy body, peaceful mind and a joyful spirit. We will continue to provide a safe and peaceful place for all who enter.
Peace and Blessings,
Terry Seth
