Melanie has been practicing yoga for over 13 years and is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. Melanie completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Satya School of Yoga under the guidance of Sona Hernandez and Stacy Orr and her 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training under Michael Plasha. She believes that yoga is important to the wellbeing of the body, mind and spirit for people of all ages. Melanie feels that returning our connection to the breath and allowing for silence are necessary in our over-stressed, fast-paced world today. We must return to the breath to and turn inward to improve our personal wellbeing, healthcare system, and community. She is passionate about bringing the practice of yoga to those suffering from chronic stress and diseases.
A vibrant spirit and child-at-heart approach, Melanie has over 100 hours in children’s yoga training and she is working to obtain her certification in children’s yoga through Yoga Alliance. Her goal is to help empower children to take a greater role in being healthy and happy. She is an avid Muppet fan and her practices often encourage a lighthearted and child-like playfulness—true to her belief that our inner child must continue to shine no matter what age we are. You may even hear a word of wisdom or two from Jim Henson during her class!
